According to the recent survey prepaid cards become more and more popular in the world. So, popularity index has showed a constant growth and it is expected that by 2012 the number of the prepaid cards will increase by 10%.

"Without credit options and ties to bank accounts, these cards offer real solutions to a vast number of Britons and are in a very strong position to aid debt management across the country," said Ms Kriya Patel, head of card solutions at Newcastle Building Society. According to her words number of the prepaid cards in the world may reach 10.8 million in a year's time.

Carl Scheible, managing director of PayPal UK, the company which has recently launched their new Top-Up Cards explains such popularity by the unwillingness of people to find the "huge" credit card bills when they come home.
