Palm Springs district board of education has agreed to establish payment processing through PayPal. The system will enable parents to make payments to their child's food services account. Moreover, libraries and associated Student Body groups might also use the system. The launch of the system is projected to happen in a few months.
Some other important issues discussed at the board meeting were: Approved agreement for kitchen remodel at Nellie Coffman Middle School for a total of $181,521, aimed at introducing upgrades to meet accessibility, health and safety requirements;
Approved agreement on application for a California 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program Grant for implementing an after-school program at Cabot Yerxa Elementary School to open in September 2009;
Approved four new high school course descriptions addition: beginning Chinese, business finance, business fundamentals, and general merchandise retail.
