The affiliate page terms have been updated. Effective October 1, 2009, I will no longer be allowing traffic from PTC only sites. The reason is that I have tracked down the source of the excessive bot traffic (mostly from China) at My-PTR (from non-members) to the PTC only type of sites. PTC only sites typically use the Aurora PTC script to run their site.

The only traffic that I will allow from those kinds of PTC sites will be those with owners that are proactive in removing bot users. The request for pre-approval must be submitted by the owner or by someone in contact with the owner of the PTC only site. The PTC site also must be sustainable in order to be pre-approved as I do not allow unsustainable sites and will carry that rule over to the PTC only site approval process.

Members advertising their pages at those sites will have until the end of the day on September 30, 2009 to either have their ads expire or replaced. Sites that show that they are relatively free of bots will be listed on an approved list at that point. This message serves as a 56 day notice of the change in affiliate page promotion terms. The decision will not be reversed and has been noted on the affiliate page purchase page along with the terms of the site.
