On Saturday, August 5, the Bitcoin exchange rate rose above $3,000, breaking another record, and the market capitalization for the first time exceeded $50 billion.

According to MarketWatch, during the auctions on Saturday the cost of one Bitcoin unit reached $3,360.87. However, by the close of the market on Sunday, quotes decreased slightly and the rate of crypto currency was $3,286.87. By the time of publishing the news Bitcoin has been traded around $3,290.

It is noted that the capitalization of the market at the same time amounted to $ 53.4 billion. It is also known that the rate of Bitcoin in just one week increased by more than 10%.

Apart from that it's  worth mentioning that the high volatility of the rate did not prevent Bitcoin from growing more than three times in 2017. In May, the crypto-currency exceeded the $2,000 mark, and already in June went above $3,000.
As we previously informed, on August 1 Bitcoin split into two separate crypto-currencies, at that time the main currency fell by 4.6% and amounted to $2,729.
