Earlier this month, Atari was the largest participant in the third LAND presale for the upcoming virtual world, The Sandbox, with plans to build both an Atari-themed theme park and a RollerCoaster Tycoon park in the voxel style.
While this was undoubtedly a major development for both companies, it represents just the tip of the iceberg for what Atari has planned related to crypto. Namely, the launch of Atari Casino, an online gambling platform that will utilize the company’s own cryptocurrency, Atari Token.
“The casino space presents a massive opportunity to leverage the portfolio of Atari properties through a range of social and real money casino opportunities,” states the Atari team on its website. “Our catalog of games includes games of luck, games of skill, and hybrid games combining luck and skill.”
The Atari Casino will feature classic games like roulette, poker and blackjack, in addition to “innovative gambling games where your skill increases your chance of winning.”
Users will be able to deposit funds on the casino using a variety of methods including debit card, Skrill, Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Atari Token.
The Atari Token presale started on March 30 and is currently available to accredited investors. The public sale is scheduled to start in May.
